MVP development
for UK startups

A focused web MVP, live in 30 days or less. Fixed price from $5,000 (about £3,750). If we miss the agreed date, you get a full refund plus $2,000.

For UK founders who want a working product, not a long discovery phase

minidev.pro builds fixed-price MVPs for UK founders and UK organisations: charities and community interest companies, care providers, specialist practices and first-time founders. You agree one scope and one price in the first week, then get a live product with real sign-ups, a real database and your core workflow running in production within 30 days. The same model is described in more detail on our main MVP development page; this page covers what is different when you are buying from the UK.

What you get

The core product

Sign-up and login, the one workflow that proves your idea, a PostgreSQL database and a basic admin view so you can see what users are doing.

A way to take money or interest

Stripe checkout if you are ready to charge, or a waitlist if you are not.

Landing page and deployment

A responsive UI, a landing page and production deployment in the hosting region you choose, including London.

Handover and support

A recorded walkthrough of the codebase, full source and documentation, and 30 days of post-launch bug fixes and small changes.

The usual stack is Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL, with Supabase or Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for email and Vercel or AWS for hosting.

Price in US dollars, with the approximate pounds

We quote in US dollars. The pound figures below use the European Central Bank reference rates of 14 October 2026 (1 USD = about £0.7538), rounded to the nearest £50. Your bank or card provider will use its own rate on the day you pay, so treat the pound column as a guide.

ItemPrice (USD)About (GBP)Time added
Core web MVPFrom $5,000£3,75030 days or less

Each third-party integration+$750£550+1 day

A worked example: a B2B tool with subscription billing and team accounts is $5,000 + $1,000 + $1,500 = $7,500, or about £5,650, with four extra days on the timeline. Payment is 50% upfront and 50% on delivery, by bank transfer, card or crypto.

How the 30 days work

Week 1: Scope and set-up

A call with the developers who will build it, a signed Must / Later / Never scope, designs for the core screens, the hosting region agreed, and a deployed skeleton app.

Week 2: Core build

Backend, authentication and the main workflow working end to end on a staging site you can click through.

Week 3: Payments and the rest

Stripe, email, analytics, the add-ons in scope and your landing page.

Week 4: Test and launch

Testing, polish, production launch and the recorded handover. The 30 days of post-launch support start here.

The delivery date goes in the agreement. If we miss it and the delay was not caused by scope changes you asked for, you get a full refund of fees paid plus $2,000.

Things UK buyers should sort out early

UK GDPR and where data lives

If your users are in the UK, you can keep their data in the UK. Vercel has a London compute region (lhr1), AWS has Europe (London) eu-west-2, and Supabase offers a London database region. EU regions such as Dublin and Frankfurt are also an option: the ICO lists EEA countries as having full UK adequacy, so personal data can go there without extra transfer safeguards. Vercel runs functions in Washington, D.C. by default, so the region has to be set on purpose; we agree it in week 1 and keep the app and database in the same place.

A processing contract if real data is involved

The ICO says that when a controller uses a processor, there must be a written contract covering what is processed, security, sub-processors and what happens to the data at the end. If we will handle real personal data, for example migrating an existing client list, raise it on the first call so the terms are agreed before any data moves.

Contracts and IP

Once the final payment is made, you own all custom code and deliverables, with full source and documentation. Read the agreement the way you would read any supplier contract, and if your investors or board expect specific wording on IP assignment, send it over before you sign.

VAT and accounting

We quote in US dollars and do not give tax advice. Whether VAT or anything else needs to be accounted for on a service bought from us depends on your business, so ask your accountant before you sign.

If your product sits in a regulated area, such as care inspections, funder reporting or audit trails, see how we approach compliance software.

UK work we have done

CQC-Guard

Inspection readiness for a UK care provider: the 32 CQC quality statements, predicted ratings with the reasons behind them, action plans and three user roles.

Impact Tracker

For a UK community interest company: referral-to-employment pathways, evidenced outcomes and reports ready to send to funders.

SI Report Analyser

For a UK geoenvironmental practice: pulls contamination results from four UK lab PDF formats where table parsers failed, with a dual-parser cross-check. 148 of 148 test cells correct, and it refuses to guess a value it cannot verify.

minidev.pro vs a UK agency vs a UK freelancer

UK prices vary widely, so this table uses two published, dated figures rather than a guess at the whole market. The agency column uses one London agency's own pricing page; the freelancer column uses the UK median contract day rate for React developers.

Agency and freelancer figures are from the sources listed below, as of October 2026. For general market ranges outside the UK, see our MVP cost guide.

When we are not the right fit

You need a UK supplier on paper

If your procurement rules require a UK-registered supplier, invoices in pounds or a UK office to visit, choose a UK agency. We quote in US dollars and work remotely.

You want in-person workshops

If your team works best in a room with sticky notes, a London agency that runs on-site discovery will suit you better.

Certification comes first

If the product must pass formal certification or clinical assurance before anyone can use it, the 30-day model is the wrong shape. That work needs a longer, document-heavy process.

The scope is not one product yet

If you have several user types, a marketplace, mobile apps and an admin suite all marked as must-have, we will either cut it down with you in week 1 or tell you it is a larger project.

Questions UK founders ask

How much does an MVP cost in the UK?

It depends mostly on who builds it and how much you put in the first version. At minidev.pro a focused web MVP is a fixed $5,000, which was about £3,750 at mid-October 2026 exchange rates, with add-ons priced per feature. For comparison, one London agency publishes £10,000 to £25,000 for most startup MVPs, and 30 working days of a UK React contractor at the median day rate of £525 comes to about £15,750.

How long does it take to build an MVP?

With us, 30 days or less for a focused web MVP, and the date is written into the agreement. Each add-on adds a set number of days, which you see before you sign. One London agency quotes 6 to 8 weeks of build after a discovery phase, or 2 to 3 months overall, which is a common shape for agency projects.

Do you work with UK companies?

Yes. Our UK work includes CQC inspection readiness software for a UK care provider, an outcomes tracker for a community interest company and a lab PDF analyser for a geoenvironmental practice. We work with UK clients remotely. Prices are quoted in US dollars and you can pay by bank transfer, card or crypto.

Who owns the code?

You do. Once the final payment is made, all custom code and deliverables are yours, and you get the full source code and documentation.

Can my MVP's data be hosted in the UK?

Yes. Vercel has a London compute region (lhr1), AWS has Europe (London) eu-west-2, and Supabase offers West Europe (London) eu-west-2 for the database. We pick the region with you in week 1. Vercel functions default to a US region, so the region has to be set deliberately, and we do that as part of the build.

Do I need to pay VAT on the build?

That is a question for your accountant, not for us. Whether anything needs to be accounted for depends on your business and its VAT registration, and we do not give tax advice. Ask them before you sign so the cost in your budget is the real cost.
